The focus of this piece has been on the AGF Fixed Income team’s radar since the beginning of Q2 and has only recently been picking up some momentum in the media: the possibility of a re-acceleration in inflation into the 2nd half of the year. This piece will explore the progress made in the battle against inflation, the developing reflationary factors coming into play, and the positioning of the funds for a potentially more hawkish Fed.
Reflation in the context of this piece refers to the re-acceleration of month-over-month inflation as a result of higher expected costs.
