Head Office: Toronto, Ontario Total Assets Under Management: C$2.6 billion Portfolio Managers: 14 Investment Style: Bottom-up growth
Investment Philosophy and Approach: Ridgewood Capital Asset Management’s (Ridgewood) focus is on the growth prospects offered by Canadian companies. The bottom-up approach seeks out product or service leaders that offer relatively attractive balance sheets and strong management. Under-owned, under-analyzed companies, with potential for long-term sustainable earnings growth, provide the best opportunities to create wealth. Ridgewood’s equity selection process involves three disciplines: quantitative analysis, fundamental analysis and technical analysis. In each discipline, all stocks, small- to large-cap, are rated in quintiles from one to five and compared to ratings in other disciplines. Stocks in the top two quintiles are rated as purchase candidates, while those in the bottom two quintiles are rated as sell candidates.
*Effective September 2, 2008, Ridgewood Capital Asset Management Inc. acquired Mulvihill Capital Management Inc. ("Mulvihill"), and assumed portfolio management from Mulvihill in respect of Harmony Canadian Equity Pool. |
