Tony Genua is Senior Vice-President and Portfolio Manager of AGF American Growth Class – our flagship Fund. Tony assumed management of AGF American Growth Class when he joined AGF in January 2005, and transitioned the Fund’s holdings to reflect his style by April 2005. Tony’s primary responsibility is the management of AGF’s U.S. equity growth funds, but he is also Research Director of North American Equities. In this capacity, Tony oversees a team of seven associate portfolio managers and analyst’s activities as they pertain to the researching of opportunities across the 10 sectors. The team’s research effort involves written in-depth research reports, presentations, extensive travel to visit companies and management of sector model portfolios.

Tony has a proven track record of performance, with 30 years of industry experience, managing a number of retail mutual funds, investment portfolios for SMA and wrap platforms, as well as segregated portfolios and pools for the institutional marketplace. Tony’s direct experience as a Portfolio Manager is complemented by the three years he spent as a market strategist on Wall Street.

Tony earned his BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Toronto CFA Society.

Tony uses a bottom-up style, focused on capturing the leading growth companies in each investment cycle.
