Martin Hubbes leads AGF's investment management team based in Toronto. Martin is a strong proponent of rigorous fundamental analysis and independent thinking by his team. Under his leadership, the portfolio management team provides AGF clients with a multi-style suite of investment strategies, each with a proven investment philosophy and unique, research-based process.

Martin co-manages AGF's Canadian core portfolios, including AGF Canadian Stock Fund and AGF Canada Class with Caterina Prato. He also manages the equity component of AGF Pure Canadian Balanced Fund. His investment approach is founded on investing in companies that are expected to have strong long-term growth and are advantageously priced.

Since joining AGF in 1992, Martin's career has included roles as portfolio manager and analyst. While most of his career has been with the Toronto team, Martin was Managing Director of AGF's Berlin office from 1994 to 1996. In 1996, he was appointed lead Portfolio Manager of AGF Canadian Stock Fund and in 2005, was named Chief Investment Officer.

Martin earned a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Toronto CFA Society.
