Bob Farquharson serves as Vice Chairman. He joined AGF in 1963 as an analyst and today is one of Canada's leading investment managers with over four decades of experience. Bob currently manages the AGF Global Resources Fund, AGF Canadian Resources Fund, AGF Canadian Small Cap Fund and the AGF Precious Metals Fund, winner of the Precious Metals Equity Fund of the Year at the 2004, 2006 and 2007 Canadian Investment Awards. Bob also co-manages the AGF Canadian Growth Equity Fund. Bob is chairman of AGF Asset Management Asia and a director of AGF International Advisors Company Limited. He is a past chair of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) and a former director of the Toronto Stock Exchange. Bob earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Philosophy:
Bob uses a growth-oriented style emphasizing a bottom-up approach to stock selection. Stocks are selected based on their ability to generate above-average growth in earnings, sales and/or cash flow. |
