Judy G. Goldring is General Counsel and Senior Vice-President, Law and Corporate Affairs, of AGF Management Limited, one of Canada’s premier investment management companies with operations across Canada and subsidiaries in Europe and Asia. She also serves on the Board of Directors of AGF Management Limited and the AGF Trust Company.

As General Counsel, Judy oversees all corporate legal matters, including corporate, regulatory and security issues in Canada and abroad. As a publicly traded company with Canadian roots and a strong international presence, AGF’s legal department deals with regulators in all jurisdictions, keeping on top of changing laws and regulations and ensuring appropriate compliance and disclosure.

Judy joined AGF as Vice-President and General Counsel in 1998, and became General Counsel and Senior Vice-President, Business Operations, in 2001 before moving into her current role in 2004. As a member of the AGF Management Limited Executive Committee, she serves as a strategic business partner ensuring that legal issues and requirements are factored in all business initiatives.

Previous to her work at AGF, Judy practiced law at Gardiner, Roberts and Bennett Jones inToronto. She has a strong background in administrative law, having appeared before various tribunals over the years. Before joining AGF, Judy also specialized in energy law providing counsel in a highly regulated industry dealing with complex issues and multiple stakeholders and interests in the public domain.

Judy received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto and earned her LL.B from Queen’s University. She was called to the Bar in 1993 in the Province of Ontario.

She is a member of the Governing Council of the University of Toronto, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC). Her involvement in IFIC includes participating in various committees and appearing at conferences to discuss legal issues as they pertain to the investment management industry.

Judy is also involved with a number of charities, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation where she serves as Cabinet Chair in the Ride for Research and Operation Dialogue, an independent, non-partisan organization formed to engage Canadians in a lively and passionate dialogue about what it is to be Canadian.

Judy and her husband, Robert, have two daughters and live in Toronto. In her spare time, she enjoys fitness, golf and running.
