President and Chief Operating Officer
AGF Trust Company

Mario Causarano was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of AGF Trust Company in June 2001. AGF Trust Company is one of several wholly-owned subsidiaries of AGF Management Limited, a premier global investment management firm based in Canada.

As President of AGF Trust, Mario has worked diligently to integrate AGF Trust into AGF’s operating companies and build a diversified line of financial offerings for independent advisors and insurance agents, including investment, RSP and home equity loans, GICs and mortgages.

Since joining AGF in 2001, Mario and his team have built AGF Trust into a leading organization that serves over 13,000 financial advisors, insurance agents and mortgage brokers.

He brings his extensive leadership skills in the financial services business to oversee all aspects of AGF Trust, including marketing, sales and financing and is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the trust company.

Prior to joining AGF, Mario worked for what was then known as Canada Trust Co., rising through its corporate ranks to the position of Managing Director, Estate and Trust Services. Among the roles he held were Tax Consultant; Manager, Private Banking and Investment Management; Manager, Business Development Investment and Wealth Management; and Assistant Vice-President, Private Advisory and Investment Services. Before that, he was a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand.

Mario graduated with an Honours BA in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario, holds a CA designation and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Association.

A black belt in karate, Mario speaks fluent Italian and is becoming more proficient in French. He and his wife Joanie have two daughters and reside in Toronto.
