Investment Philosophy
The Canadian equity team invests in companies that are expected to have strong long-term growth. They are committed to fully understanding the businesses in the portfolio and buy companies when they are advantageously priced.
Investment Process
The Canadian Equity investment process follows a clear fundamental, bottom-up process:
Idea Generation: The universe of more than 800 Canadian companies is narrowed to 400-500 through quantitative screens and qualitative research.
Fundamental Analysis: Analysts conduct fundamental screening based on earnings growth and free cash flow narrowing the universe to approximately 200 stocks.
In-Depth Fundamental Research: Analysts perform In-depth research on the narrowed universe, identifying companies with sound management and positive forward-view metrics.
Portfolio Construction: The final portfolio is comprised of Canadian companies that exhibit strong growth characteristics and were purchased at a reasonable price.
